Home Value

Certainly you may not know the exact value of the property, especially since housing values in general have plummeted. If you know how much a similar house in the area has sold for recently, you can use that as basis with adjustments. For example if a home in the area sold for $200,000 but yours has a larger lot and a another bedroom, then you can add a reasonable amount to that number ($10,000-15,000) for your value.
